Slung across the River Tarn in France, the Viaduc de Millau connects the motorway from Paris to Barcelona. It is the tallest and longest cable-stayed bridge in the world. Engineers and architects collaborated to create an icon of excellence in both engineering and design worlds.

The Tarn runs through a wide gorge between two plateaus. To connect the motorway, the engineers accepted the challenge of spanning the 2.5 kilometers from one plateau to the other. They successfully created one of the most impressive civil engineering feats of our time.
